Montgomery County Prices Rise Higher Than Expected

Montgomery County Prices Rise Higher Than Expected

Montgomery County finished the year with a surprisingly strong average housing price increase of 7.1%. Of our local counties, Chester and Delaware Counties posted respectable gains as well, while Bucks County saw a slight decrease. Statistics are for the one-year period from the end of 2018 to the end of 2019.

Here are the average price changes, per county:

Montgomery County + 7.1%
Delaware County + 4.3%
Chester County + 4.1%
Bucks County - 0.6%

As these numbers show, our local real estate market remains dynamic. In all four counties, there were significantly fewer homes for sale than in the prior year. In Montgomery County, the number of houses for sale decreased by almost a third. The average days on market fell in each county.

As the Spring market unfolds, the housing market should continue to reflect our solid local economy and low unemployment.
