Homeowners often want to know which renovation projects will offer the highest return on investment when they sell. Data from Remodeling’s “2020 Cost Vs. Value Report” indicates that for mid-Atlantic states, exterior projects offer a higher return than most interior projects.

Among the projects offering the highest return are:

Garage door replacement
Manufactured stone veneer
Siding replacement
Wood replacement windows
Deck addition
Steel entry door

According to Remodeling’s report, the return on investment for these projects ranges from 71.4% for the steel entry door to 106.3% for a garage door replacement. A minor kitchen remodel is the only interior renovation project ranking in the top ten.

Homeowner’s considering stone veneer should make sure their contractor takes the necessary steps during installation to prevent moisture penetration.
