Smart- home devices can now be found in many homes and are
on course to become even more popular this year. Smart TVs and speakers are two
of the most common examples. Others include high-end thermostats and sophisticated
security systems, especially in upscale homes.
Additional devices with smart technology are no-touch
faucets, refrigerators that allow homeowners to use their phones to look inside,
and smart locks that can be integrated with other systems, like video doorbells
and security cameras.
The cost of smart-home technology adds up with each new device,
but homeowners may recoup some of these costs when selling. Internet-connected
devices are on the wish lists of a growing number of buyers, many of whom are
willing to pay extra for the convenience they provide.
