Real estate has featured
prominently in the news—houses selling
quickly, prices rising to unexpected levels, and buyers competing for a limited
supply. How high have prices risen? Here are average sale prices for three local
counties, comparing prices in April of last year with April of this year. All three counties experienced a substantial
price rise.
Montgomery County +11.65%
April 2020: $378,733
April 2021: $422,856
Bucks County
+18.42%
April 2020: $391,512
April 2021: $463,659
Chester County
+15.09%
April 2020: $417,020
April 2021: $479,959
Updated homes continue to see the strongest
demand, with many attracting multiple offers. Even dated homes often are not on
the market long, if their price reflects the work needed.
